Understanding and acknowledging the issue of affordability as a central challenge for Council in Port Moody, the project is taking a creative approach in making a contribution to help alleviate the affordability issue by offering a Rent-to-Own Program. 10% of the building will be dedicated to a Rent-to-Own program for Port Moody residents only to help facilitate purchase by the locals. The program allows candidates to live in the building for 2 years before closing and save all the rent in that period for their down-payment. In addition, for the first time in Port Moody, mortgage helpers are introduced for condominiums to help to make larger family-oriented units more affordable and creating a rental pool for the community.
