This video explains the environmental aspects of the project on the natural surrounding landscape. It describes how the project has substantially improved its design to further protect the two streams on-site and has exceeded what the by-law requires. Video also illustrates how the design has deliberately concentrated the building on a smaller footprint in order to preserve the majority of the site and the trees at the top of the hill. Green-roof helps decrease buildings emissions by not absorbing heat and limiting stormwater run-off. Removal of invasive species and replantation with native species helps the ecosystem thrive. Trail systems will be expanded to help citizens safely enjoy the serene landscape as part of this project.
